An Azilal Moroccon rug with a black and white static background and vibrant pops of colour. Versatile due to its size, next to the bed as the first thing your feet touch is my favourite, but you can place it where you wish.
P.S. also see Right, crafted by the same maker, and have one on each side of the bed!

MATERIAL
100% wool
This Moroccan rug is made from wool coming from sheep in the mountains of Morocco. Women from the area process and dye the wool making it ready for weaving. The base on the loom was cotton which is seen in its tassels. 100% natural fibre rug.
MAKER
This Azilal rug has been handmade by women from the Azilal region in the heart of the Atlas mountains - about 180km from Marrakech. These women have learnt ancient weaving techniques from their ancestors. They do their magic on the loom -literally- incorporating ancient symbols to deflect the evil eye and bring good luck to them -the maker- and the future owner of the rug.
WHAT IS AN AZILAL RUG?
Moroccan Azilal rugs come from the Atlas mountains about 180kms from Marrakech. Characterised by a riot of colour, geometric designs and vibrant free-form patterns, Azilal rugs are a contemporary expression of creativity.
Using ancient symbols and storytelling traditions, Azilal rugs are one-of-a-kind art pieces, weaving a story from the talented women behind these hand-knotted types of Moroccan rugs. What makes Azilal carpets so special is the whimsical artistic design, featuring bold shapes, bold colours and intricate geometric patterns.
This rug is a robust all natural rug, refer to our How do I clean/care for my Moroccan rug FAQ's to keep your rug in its best condition.
